Grey Dog Coffee
(212) 462-0041
33 Carmine St
New York, NY 10014+4428
In 1996 the Grey Dog coffeehouse was created. She was named after Moose and Goose, our two labrador retrievers, one white the other black. The goal was to build a small coffeehouse in the world's great city. We wanted to concentrate on little things that often get lost in big city life, like getting to know the names of our patrons and serving wonderful fresh foods at very reasonable prices.

Kellogg's Diner
(718) 782-4502
518 Metropolitan Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11211
A fixture for 24-hours-a-day eats and diners in the ultra-trendy Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Tom's Restaurant

(212) 864-6137
2880 Broadway
New York, NY 10025+7848
A favorite haunt of Columbia students, the food has never been particularly good or bad at Tom's. It has simply existed, and for college students that is a good thing. (We'll leave it to the philosophy majors to further ponder its existence.) Suzanne Vega, herself a former Barnard student, immortalized the place in her 1981 song "Tom's Diner". Tom's gained additional fame after being featured on the TV series "Seinfeld"; its garish neon sign is a hallmark of the Morningside Heights neighborhood, and while its pink light might draw you in, you might be better off eating elsewhere if you're not on a budget and/or don't have a cast-iron stomach.
